さすがマーティンといった感じです。
持ち運びやすいサイズながらも枯れた感じのマーティンサウンド！
枯れたといっても、いい意味での表現。
マーティンD18のように軽快さと明るさも兼ね備えています。
サイズ感が絶妙です！　ドレッドノートのように持ち運び嵩張らず。
気軽に持ち運べるため、トラベルギターとして活躍しています。

初めてのギターでこちらを買いました。イシバシの店頭で聴いてみてこの価格のギターでは音が一番きれいでした。通販の方が安いけど、店頭にも何台かあってやっぱり一台ずつ音が少々違うので高くても自分は店頭で買いました。少しサイズも小さいので初心者にも扱いやすくていいと思います。長年ギターをやっている父にもいい音だ、自分も欲しいと言われました。あと初心者の方は、弦高が高いので購入時に下げてもらい、弦も抑えやすいように細めに張替えしてもらうのがいいと思います。その際は、長持ちするコーティング弦でお願いしましょう、そうすれば半年以上は張り替えなくてすみます。以上、初心者の私が初めてのギターを買う時にやらなくて自分で苦労したことですのでご参考に・・・。すでに廃盤ですが後継モデルも出るので売れているのでしょうね。

これは弾きやすい！わたしは通販じゃなくイシバシの店頭で買いましたが、音のバランスの良さにまず驚く。それで、指が動かしやすい。サペリはマホガニーに近いという説明がコピペされてるけど、マホガニーほどもっさりしてない。低音がすごくふくよかで、ハンマリングをすると箱なりが気持ちいい。わたしはギターが下手なんですが、なんだかうまくなったような感じ。ストロークの歯切れよくきまる。これなら２０万円の高級ギターを買う必要なし。ドレッドノートほどもて余さず、ミニギターほど窮屈感がない。ドレッドノートでなかなかぎこちない人でもマーティンの入門器として、またサブとしてベストでしょう。

チョイ弾きには…ベストサイズですね!!
座って抱えやすく～立って軽くて取り回しが楽なギターです。D-41よりは、ひとまわり小さく～リトルよりは、ひとまわり大きいサイズですが、オール単板の音色はマーティンそのもの…トップ・スプルース＋サイド、バック・サペリの組み合わせは明るく柔らかい音はD-18系統の感じです。
ボディサイズ以上の音量は…指弾きのアルペジオでもオッケーです!!
マーティンクラスの購入は調整やメンテナンスを考えると…楽器専門店が…
ちなみに私はイケベ楽器店さんから購入しました～電話での対応も親切ていねいで細かいお願いも心安く聞いて頂きました!!

This guitar is first class! Obviously it cannot be compared to vey expensive instruments. I have a few "better" guitars but I hesitate to use them for gigs because I'm afraid of theft and/or damage . When I got this from Amazon and Cosmo Music, it needed a set up as the factory action was too high for my taste. That being said, it is great value for the money ($719 Can). This as opposed to Land M which was over $100. more.

Guitars are a matter of personal taste but for me, this is a "keeper".

Can't say enough good things about this guitar. I was always been a devout, Taylor fan; but I couldn't stay away from this beaut. I've owned a Taylor 214ce, Breedlove Passport Travel, and a Martin DRS1 in the past. But for my playing style and personal preferences, the Martin DJr embodies elements from guitars I've owned previously. This is really the one and only acoustic guitar I need.

After 2 months of researching and testing the Taylor GS Mini and Martin DJr, eventually I opted for the DJr due to sound and build. Here's as much an objective perspective I can provide:

Taylor GS Mini
- Solid wood top with laminate back/sides are great for durability
- Bright tone and excellent, natural (unplugged) volume
- ES2 on-board electronics have great clarity in amplified output
- Size is excellent for for smaller-bodied players
- Well-made hard bag, which even has neck support inside!

Martin DJr.
- Basically all-solid wood (top/back/sides) guitar body. You can't really get that on the market anymore--not at this price.
- Balanced sound, fresh out of the box. Over time, the sound gets better--more mellow and robust.
- Sound: crisp, clear, smooth. Frets/scale length: Appropriate spacing for smaller hands.
- On-board electronics: decent and simple with 2 knobs for tone and volume. But amped sound may seem a bit tinny. I'm relieved the 9V battery compartment is not in a velcro pouch, adhesed to the inside of the upper bout (as was prior versions of the guitar).
- Gig bag: just okay. Basic protection, minimal to moderate padding. I bought the Martin DJr hardshell case anyways. (Basically the only hardshell option, really.) I travel a lot, so I need to keep it protected.
- Factory strings were not my fancy. I use Elixir Custom Light Phosphor Bronze. Brings out more tonal balance.

Ultimately, both the GS Mini and the DJr are excellent choices. Still, I’m completely satisfied with this guitar; Martin really amped up their A-game on this model. I usually play for church and do some recreational finger-picking and jamming, so the travel-size aspect and clear-cut sound were large influencing factors.

I like the sound and feel of the Dreadnought Junior. I have a number of dreadnoughts and I don't feel like the Dreadnought Junior sacrifices very much if anything in terms of volume and tone. I also considered a Taylor GS mini. They are both fine travel guitars. Little to choose from in terms of playability. Make your choice on which sound you prefer, a slightly more balanced/traditional Martin sound or a brighter Taylor sound. The Dreadnought Junior also sounds very good plugged in. I play it through a small acoustic amp and through a Bose L1 Model II with B2 Bass Module and ToneMatch, and it sounds very good. I did have the action lowered by having the bridge shaved very lightly. It seems that many others have done so as well. Not a huge expense. Had it done as part of a general setup which I tend to do for any new guitar purchase. That improved the playability of bar chords up the neck. I am disappointed in the quality of the gig bag. It looks identical to the gig bag for the Martin LX series travel guitars, but Martin used an inferior quality of nylon for the Dreadnought Junior bag. Disappointing and I would have gladly paid a few dollars more for a nice gig bag. I would definitely recommend the guitar to those of you considering the purchase.

Very nice, Sounds amazing!!! This thing really exceeded my expectations the fact that it is all solid wood for the price is so cool. Martin & Co. Really hit a homerun with this guitar. It really puts the Taylor 214 to shame and that is really saying something expecially because the 214 is a full size guitar. The other thing that I like about the Martin versus the Taylor Mini is that the Martin is solid wood all around and Taylor is HPL back and sides. Unless you spend extra money Taylor Mini does have a solid wood back and side guitar but you pay dearly for it and also for the 599.99 price tag that is on the Martin it also comes with a Fishman pick up system which is great for plugging in. The Taylor Mini does not have this as a standard option you can get a pickup system in it but again you pay dearly for it the price tag on Taylor is way too high the Martin Jr is just an overall great product.

You should also lookup to see how Martin & Co. builds there guitars a lot of work and a long process is done on every guitar real amazing how the do it.

Great guitar for those who would like to still have a all solid wood guitar experience, without the size of a full dreadnought. The box it came in could have been packed more securely, but because of its light weight and soft gig bag, the guitar arrived with no issues whatsoever. I've been a Martin guitar user for about 5 years now and this second guitar I've bought is just another affirmation to Martin's commitment to building quality guitars at any price point.
