On Airより始まったヤードバーズのBBCセッション音源のCD化だが、９９年に発売された本作が最も内容的には充実している。

９７年にアメリカのワーナーより発売されたBBC SESSIONSではインタヴューやDJの語りが発掘されていたが、On Air収録曲の内、残念な事にShapes Of Thingsが１曲カットされていた。

しかし、本作ではそのカットされた１曲も収録された上、インタヴュー部分にもトラック番号が割り当てられ、選曲出来るようになっている。

最近再発された国内CDは再びOn Airと同内容となっているので、日本語解説等がどうしても必要な人は仕方ないとして、そうでない方はより内容が完全なこちらを聞くべきでしょう。

These BBC sessions takes me back to a time when The Yardbirds were starting out just hearing the band play so many of the songs that made them famous. In this small setting they were playing it came off so well

pour qui ne trouve pas Clapton indispensable mais ne jure que par Beck - excellent son, de très nombreux morceaux parfaitement envoyés et superbement bon. Groupe incontournable, les fondamentaux du rock. Les commentaires du ... commentateur BBC sont un brin saoulant. La 1ère fois c'est drôle, ensuite on aimerait les zapper. Ne boudons pas notre plaisir, superbe ambiance, à fond dans la nouvelle Mini que vous n'aurez pas manqué d'acheter avec le disque.

Eine tolle Scheibe mit akustisch guten Aufnahmen, wie man es von BBC-Sessions gewöhnt ist. Lustig auch die Interviews mit den Bandmitgliedern (u.a. Jimmy Page als junges Bürschchen). Alle Songs live sehr gut gespielt. Für Fans und Sammler absolut empfehlenswert.
