2016 release, the fourth album from Animals as Leaders. 'Extremely anticipated' doesn't even begin to describe feelings of the band's fans regarding the release of The Madness Of Many. "It's definitely an evolution of our band. It sounds like us, but it definitely sounds like we have evolved," says Javier Reyes of the follow up to their 2014 release, The Joy Of Motion. The band is renowned for their ability to push music in ways that it has never been heard before while bringing some of the finest virtuoso playing humanly possible. "There's been a lot of things that we've been experimenting with - there's a lot more nylon-string... It's the most collaborative record that we've done, so it's pretty awesome. We've learned over the years how each other works best, and it's taken that time to make an album that sounds the most like what we sound like as musicians. It sounds different to our previous stuff, but it's definitely what we want to be hearing and what we want to be playing. I'm confident that it's an album where fans will know we've taken the next step up."

AALは狂気→幾何学→幻想
といった雰囲気のアルバムを出してきたと思うのですが、このアルバムは近未来的な感じがします

クラシカルなフレーズが多いのに、そう感じるとは不思議です

inner assassinはsteve vaiのkill the guy with the ballと曲の造りが似ています
たまりません

cognitive contortionsの押しつぶされる悪夢のような曲調には度肝を抜かれました

昨年からファンになり全作購入しています。

過去作品ももちろん大好きですが、
通して聞くには体力を要しました（それはそれでこういうプログレッシブ音楽の楽しみで良いと思います）。

今回のはメロディアスなラインが多くて、
聞きやすかったです。
、、でも、これって、過去作品を聞いて
慣れてきているのも原因として在ると思います。
よくわかりません。

とにかく、Youtubeでずっと聞いて、やっぱりほしいなと思って購入しました。
フィジカルなCDはやっぱり良いです。

今までのデジパック仕様ではなくプラケースでした。
Sumerianレコードのジャケットはいつもオシャレですね。

アメリカのテクニカルメタルバンド、アニマルズ・アズ・リーダーズの2016年作
8弦ギターを駆使する黒人ギタリスト、トシン・アバシを中心としたバンドの4作目となる。
エスニックな旋律にヘヴィなギターリフを交えて、テクニカルなリズムに乗せたMeshuggahを思わせる感触に、
随所にメロディックなフレーズを聴かせる、いわばメタル・フュージョン風味も含んだサウンドだ。
オールインストでありながらミステリアスなスケール感を描く技量とセンスはさすがというべきで、
テクニックのみならず自在な表現力のフレージングで楽曲を彩るギタープレイも素晴らしい。
いまやDjent系の代表となった感があるが、その期待通りのテクニカル性と、変則リズムによる軽妙な遊び、
そこにモダンなヘヴィネスとメロディが高度に融合し、より深化を遂げた濃密な作品に仕上がっている。

...well I think this is a very interesting album. Great sounds and great riffs...if you are into guitar music and prog, riffing and some good chugging...this wont disappoint!
Still so far every AAL album has not disappoint.

I love it. Its not as good as the previous ones, but it does have a number of great musical moments. As usual the guitar playing by Tosin is incredible. This is how far guitar playing has come. It's elaborate, it's sophisticated, it has peaks and it has softness, it is violent it is subtle. I look forward to their next one already.

No todos los días se vive la publicación de un nuevo álbum de Animal As Leaders. Su música me encandiló allá por el 2014, comencé a escuchar con asombro la discografía de este genio y no tardé en enamorarme de sus composiciones. El disco está plagado de sentimientos y emociones, emociones que habían estado presentes en sus anteriores discos de forma intermitente y con menos protagonismo. Sí es verdad que el factor metal queda relegado a un segundo plano y los riffs entran en el pleno juego de la emoción a través de una mayor presencia "clean" y acústica. Técnicamente es brillante, el equilibrio armónico consolida un nivel compositivo digno de un genio musical; aflora la contemporaneidad y acentúa una estética compositiva representativa de la música hipermoderna del género progresivo.

El principal defecto de este disco es su menor grado de innovación respecto a los anteriores discos; simplemente reitera el estilo marcado anteriormente y lo desglosa con un mayor nivel técnico-emocional. Totalmente recomendable, si amas la música instrumental contemporánea y el virtuosismo hipermoderno compositivo este disco no te defraudará en absoluto.
