Don't let the PG-13 rating fool you, this is one for the whole family! There is absolutely no profanity, violence, or sexual content in this film... just a good story that will entertain kids & adults alike.

If you've read the best-selling book by Sarah Weeks, you'll really appreciate this movie adaptation. Unlike far too many book-to-film adaptations, this is a beautifully faithful take on the original story.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the incredible cast. Talitha Bateman, as Heidi, has an acting skill far beyond her years and will undoubtedly be a big star. Jessica Collins absolutely blew me away as Mama, Heidi's autistic mother. Add to the mix veteran actors Alfre Woodard, John Heard, and Cloris Leachman, and you have a winner!

This DVD version contains some wonderful bonus features, such as interviews with the cast and author Sarah Weeks.

This should definitely be on your list of movies to watch because it's one of those rare films that you will enjoy, no matter who you are!

I was looking forward to seeing this movie almost since it went into production. I loved the book by Sarah Weeks and hoped that the movie would be as touching and sweet. And it is absolutely. Some minor twists from the book to the movie, but mostly completely in keeping with the excellent author's work. The story is one of self-discovery. That moment when you realize as a child the adults around you don't comprise all the pieces of your world and there are more questions to ask and many more answers to receive. All the performances in this movie are exceptional, but my favorites are Mama and Bernie. But the scene when Heidi realizes what has really happened at home...... I can't watch it without my heart breaking. I've watched it twice and plan on a movie night very soon with a larger gathering of friends. Please, Hollywood, give us more movies that tug at our hearts like this one.

There aren't many movies I would sit down and write a review about, but this one I will. Not only was it an amazing movie, but the cast was just incredible. The words that were spoken, so well written... and translated to such magic. Talitha was incredible to watch. Such a young person with an old soul. The love, the "Soof", between her, her Mama and Bernie.... brought tears to my eyes and my daughters. Family is truly what you make of it. It's not always blood. It's the love behind it. We watched the movie and then the interviews. You could see that this film not only brought family to the screen, but behind the scenes as well. A pleasure to watch.

First, I have to disclose that the screen writer, Garry Williams, is one of my best friends. But, also know that I should have had a career as a film critic. I am very tough to give 5 stars to any movie. That being said I saw this movie in theaters four times. I rarely will watch a movie more than twice. But every time I have watched So B. It I have needed a tissue. The story by Sarah Weeks, the superb cast and the conversion from book to film is simply wonderful. A movie you can watch with anyone without feeling embarrassed by language, sexual content or violence. They just do not make movies like this anymore. But they should. Add this to your library. You'll be glad you did.

I loved the book and was so glad when the DVD became available. You don't have to read the book first to appreciate the movie because the screen writing was amazing, the cast was stellar and the directing was phenomenal. That said, I highly recommend reading the book just so you can see how well the movie stayed true to the story. If you haven't seen this movie, get it now and take the time to watch it. You will laugh and cry and then want to watch it again.
