一つの定義が、後の思考パターンを変えていく事がある。物事を考えるときに、複数の複雑な事を思い出す事はできない。分かりやすくて、シンプルで、腹に落ちるような定義こそ、真に使える定義だと思う。そんな真に使える定義に出会ったような気がする。


任天堂の岩田聡社長と糸井重里さんのほぼ日での対談。任天堂の岩田社長が遊びに来たので、みんなでご飯を食べながら話を聞いたのだ。 - の中での話だ。



「アイデアとは、複数の問題を一気に解決するものである」

なるほど、確かにその通りだ。シンプルだけど、芯をついたような定義だと思う。


ひとつだけ改善したとしても

全体を前進させることはできない。

ひとつ努力してよくしたとしても、

なんらかの副作用が出てきますし、

いままでうまくいってたことが

うまくいかなくなったりもします。

だから、アイデアを出す会議などで、

「この問題をどうしよう？」

ということを話し合っているときに、

当然いろんな人がいろんなこと言うんですけど、

たいていそれは、ひとつの問題を解決するだけで、

ほかの問題を解決させるわけではない。

つまり、汗をかいた分しか前進しないんです。


で、ゲームの話に戻っていうと、多くの場合、
おもしろさが足りなくて悩むわけです。
当然ネタがたくさん仕込まれてるほど、
おもしろいわけだし、人は満足してくれる。
でも一方で、つくるのに割り当てられる
人材の量や時間は有限です。
有限の中で「多いほどいい」って言われたって、
解決できないわけですよね。
でも、ときどき、たったひとつのことをすると、
あっちもよくなって、こっちもよくなって、
さらに予想もしなかった問題まで解決する、
というときがあるんですよ。

たくさんある問題を、ひとつずつ叩いていても、労多くして実りは少ない。単なる『もぐら叩き』で終わってしまう。一つの問題が解決したと思ったら、また違う問題が現れてくるだけだ。そんな、汗を流した分しか結果は出ない「アイデア？」もある。というか、これをアイデアと称して、行動している人の方が多いのだろう。しかし、汗を流したものと同じだけの結果しか出ないのならば、それはアイデアとは言えないだろう。



昔、グリコのキャラメルのキャッチコピーであったが、「一粒で二度美味しい！」があって初めてアイデアだと。そこで、このアイデアの定義を実践しているモデルを考えてみた。いた！、「わらしべ長者」だ。「わらしべ長者」は、自分が持っているものを他人と交換していく事で、最初に自分が持っていたモノをどんどん大きくしていく。自分と相手が両方、美味しい話、一つの取引で、二つの美味しいアイデアを提供していって成り立つ話だ。それを何度も繰り返して、わらしべ長者になっていく。



汗を流した分しか結果がでない、小さな問題１つしか解決できないアイデアは、「単なるガンバリ」でしかない。そうい意味でも、「複数の問題を一気に解決するものである」しかアイデアではないと定義すると、確かに面白い。私達は、「アイデア」と「単なるガンバリ」を区別していく必要がある。そして、「一粒で二度以上美味しい」と感じる事のできるアイデアを頭を振り絞って考えていかなければならないのだろう。考えるのは大変だけど、二度以上、美味しければ、それだけの労力を使う価値はあるハズ。



そう定義すると「複数の問題を解決するのではなく、もの凄い大きな問題を一挙に解決する事はアイデアではないのか？」という話も出てくるかと思う。しかし、「物凄い大きな問題」は「複数の問題から構成」されているから大きいのだと思う。だから、この定義でも十分に通じるものになるのではないか？

もちろん、こんな話をしていると、頭のキレル人からは『ホントに効果的なアイデアは、「真の問題点」への解決策だ』という話も出てくるかと思うが、なんか、それじゃ話が難しすぎるようになっちゃうと思う。「真の問題点」とは、複数の問題を発生させているようなキー、センターピンとなるような問題点のこと。そんなアイデアは、「戦略的アイデア」として格上げしてあげて、普段は、「一粒で二度以上美味しいものがアイデアだ！」って考えていた方が、自由な発想がでてくると思う。


「一粒で二度美味しくて、初めてアイデアだ！」と定義し、「一粒で二度美味しくなる話はないか？！」を常に自分に問いかけ、探していく姿勢を作る事が、自分のクリエィティビティを大きく向上させていく事になるのではないだろうか？









単なるガンバリ、アイデア、戦略的アイデア。３つの言葉はそれぞれ違う。（今回は、ちょっと自分の発想メモとしてまとめています。）
