人には様々な個性があります。



映画やドラマを見ていても、主役だけが個性を持っているワケではありません。主役だけが、個性が強く描かれていて、脇役の個性が描かれていない映画だと面白くありません。「踊る大捜査戦」が大ヒットしたのは、脇役が素晴らしく個性的に描かれていたからではないでしょうか？



仕事の現場においても、主役の役割を演じている人と、脇役の役割を演じている人がいます。ほとんどの人は脇役になってしまうのかもしれません。よい会社、よい商品を作っていこうとすれば、この脇役が実は大事なのでしょうが、特に最近は主役にしかスポットライトを当てない会社が増えてきているように思えます。



多くの企業において導入されている人事評価でも、「主役としての仕事ができたか？」については高いウェイトを持って評価されます。しかし、「脇役」としての仕事や、まして「脇役の個性度」などに関しては全く評価していない企業が多いのではないでしょうか？



だから、今、みんなが主役を目指すようになっていく。「個性的な脇役」を目指す人など誰もいなくなってしまいます。だけど、「よい会社」や「よい商品」を作ろうとすれば「名脇役」「「個性派な脇役」が絶対に必要になるのです。



今、閉塞感を持っている企業が多いのは、この「脇役」を軽視して、「主役」ばかりを作ろうとしている企業が多いからかもしれませんね。



ある意味、これから他の人から差別化していこうとすれば「名脇役」「個性派脇役」を演じていくという戦略もありなのかもしれません。みんなが「主役」を演じようとする時代ですからね。個性的な脇役が少ない時代。業界が成熟化すればするほど、「名脇役」の輝きが、「違いを生み出す違い」になっていくハズですからね。



「主役」と違い、「名脇役」でよければいろんな個性で大丈夫。

例えば「上司にとって使いやすい部下」なんていうのもその一つ。決して、「主役級の能力はないけど、どのポジションもソツなくこなしてくれる」ので、チームに絶対に一人は置いておきたい存在なんていうのもそうでしょう。（野球やサッカーでも、複数のポジションをこなす事ができる選手は重宝されていくものです）案外、このような人の方が、管理職になった時に、主役級のプロフェッショナルより、成功したりします。



主役の王道を行かなくても、主役に登る道がビジネスにはあるのではないでしょうか。
