■[本] Flatlandに幽閉されているのは誰か

Flatlandを読んだ雑感ですが、Flatlandを読んでもいない人にも分かるように書いてみます。いやでも読んでない人は見ちゃダメかなぁ、というわけで収納。

つまりAbbott squreなのですが、そのスクエア氏がFlatland=平面世界の二次元のぺらっぺらな世界からspaceつまり三次元空間の住人から誘われ、三次元世界に移動したものの、三次元世界の更なる高みを目指して四次元超界へ移動したい願望にかられたために、怒りを買い、二次元世界に幽閉されてしまいます。

ここで恐ろしいのは、三次元人に４次元のことを聞くと怒ることです。または二次元人に三次元のことを聞くと怒ること。

知らないことを聞かれると怒るみたいです。なんと恐ろしいことか。これでは誰も知らないことを研究することは不可能です。でもこれが現実なのです。人はやはり知っていることでしか判断できない。基本的に経験したことでなければ、わからないのです。もう一度いいます。経験したことでなければわからないのです。

なぜか？それは考えないからです。考えたくないからです。

つまり、行きている上で何かしら問題が発生したときに、どうするのかというと、ほとんどの人は、今までに経験してきたことの組み合わせだけで対処するのです。問題をしっかり向き合って、根本解決するなんてことはしません。例えば、人に聞くとかします。この場合、解決策を尋ねられた人はどのように解決策を提示すべきでしょうか？それが充分に複雑な場合、今までの人生で経験したことのない種類のことが多いと思います。

それでも、今までに経験したことのある解決方法を望むのです。新しい提案は受けいれられません。だって経験していない方法ですからわからない。したがって非効率ではあるけれども今までの方法で対応するのです。

こういった方法では発展は非常にゆっくりとしか進みません。解決しないかもしれません。でもそれが彼らの望むことなのです。だから問題が解決しなくても、非難してはいけません。それがあなたの望むことの結果なのです。実は前提条件で問題を解くことを拒否しているのです。

我々は、平面的な世界に閉じ込められているのです。一面的な世界観に。三次元空間も二次元的に捉えているのかもしれません。一時的に３次元空間的な思考ができるかもしれません。でも四次元的な思考はできないでしょうし、N次元に進むことは不可能なのではないでしょか？

ママンが最近PCでいろいろしている。とは言っても、OpenOffice.orgで何かDocumentを作っているだけのようだけど。

それのせいで気がつくと、もう26時になっている。

そういえば、設定ファイルにこう書けとあったんだけど、

それ書いたら、エラーが出た。多分anythingの進化が進んでいらなくなったんだろう??
