■ブラジル人がOrkutを占拠 
ブラジル人はFotologばかりでなくOrkutでも多数を占めている。orkutを利用するブラジル人があまりに多くてポルトガル語しか使わないので、それに対する苦情をいうSo many Brazilians on Orkutのような専門のコミュニティーまである。fotologではユーザー453,600人のうち、ブラジル人が211,000人と約半分を占めている。

■姓のないモンゴル人 
共産党支配下のモンゴルでは階級差別をなくすために姓を持つことが禁じられ名しか持てなかった。結局、9千人のモンゴル女性が同じ黄金の花という意味のアルタンツェツェグAltantsetsegになった。しかし民主化されたモンゴルで法令によって姓が必要になると人々はみなジンキス・カーンの部族名であるボルジギンBorjiginを名乗るようになったので姓がない時と変わりなくなってしまった。そこでモンゴルの伝統的な姓を研究するモンゴル国立図書館のSerjee Besud氏は、姓のない人のためにAdvice on Mongolian Surnamesという一冊の本にまとめた。
Everyone wants the name Borjigin, as if they have some connection to Genghis Khan," said Serjee Besud, director of Mongolia's state library and a leading researcher on surnames.
"It's like a fashion. But it has no meaning if everyone has the same name. It's like having no name at all."
