I have been interested in Malaysia since April 1990 when I was assigned to University of Malaya as a Japanese language lecturer by the Japan Foundation after I received M.A. from Nagoya University in Japan.
My research interests:
1. Christianity in Malaysia (especially the Church history)
2. Bible translation work with special reference to the language policy of Malaysia
3. Muslim-Christian relations in Malaysia
4. Modern Christian missiology and dialogue with Islam in Malaysia
My hobbies:
Classical music, Piano, German, Spanish, Walking, Swimming, Yoga, Tea Ceremony, Writing, Reading (Classics, History, Bible-related lieterature, classical music-related), etc.
My favourite musicians:
The best and most favourite composers are J.S. Bach, J. Brahms, C. Debussy and D. Shostakovich. Other composers I like are W. A. Mozart, L. Beethoven, F. Chopin, S. Prokofiev, etc. The pianists I like are Vladimir Ashkenazy, Martha Argerich and Helene Grimaud. I respect and admire the late Nathan Milstein(1903-1992), the late Issac Stern(1920-2001), Wolfgang Sawallisch(1923- ), etc.
