Monsieur Gainsbourg Revisited on February 27, 2006.

Franz Ferdinand, Jane Birkin, Marianne Faithfull, Placebo, Carla Bruni, Portishead, Jarvis Cocker, Kid Loco, Françoise Hardy, Keith Flint, Cat Power, Michaël Stipe, Tricky, The Kills, Gonzales, Feist, Dani, The Rakes….All take part in the singular album of which it is a question here.
The bet was serious: to bring together artists resulting from the international scene to interpret English adaptations of the songs of Serge Gainsbourg. The casting and the various finally joined together versions exceed the hopes.
The unit reaches an energy and a sensitivity seldom of setting on the difficult exercise which a tribute represents, even with adaptations of texts signed Boris Bergmann...
One will be thus inevitably happy to note that not an only many traditional of Gainsbourg are put always as well stop some but one will be as surprised as the young pop guard/rock'n'roll and some of its godfathers adapts them with as much relevance or impertinence.
Welcome thus at Mr Gainsbourg, where the black, ultimate color of a rock'n'roll glamour and subversive, remains of setting.
