【Helen’s Adventure】 I went for the first time in Tokyo

Hello, last week end I went for the first time in Tokyo. As manga fan I choose to have a walk in Shibuya. From the starbucks in front of the station one could catch a glimpse of the human tide crossing the legendary Shibuya crossroad. I made the acquaintance of Hachiko, the legendary statue of the faithful dog that I saw so many times in manga such as Gal’s, City Hunter and so on… In the afternoon I went to visit the Gibli museum in Mitaka City. This is a magic place that will bring you back to childhood. The tiny doors, the cat bus, the short movies, all the picture. Thanks to all these elements you recover your childhood ingeniousness. This museum will certainly be a source of inspiration for the Kyoto Manga Museum.

By night I went back to Shibuya to enjoy the huge flat screens, floodlighting the night and to watch young people fidgeting around. At this occasion I encountered a group of teenage girls all dressed up as Lolita.

This week end was magical for me I don’t know what to add; maybe that Japan is not like what you can read in manga, it is even better.
The next time I will definitively go to Akihabara, the archetypal “manga fans” area.
