≪Kyoto MaGiC news≫ No.1 "Nakahara Junichi×SOU・SOU 1"

Fashion is something that can change your day completely, especially for girls. If you wear something you like then you would feel good throughout the day. We thought you might have had experience of learning fashion by looking at shojo manga.

So this was the reason why "Kyoto MaGiC" was started as a project that develops fashion from shojo manga into the real.
Kyoto MaGiC is a shorter word of Kyoto Manga Girls Collection and it means "The MaGiC that shojo manga taught me how to make myself look cuter".

(→More details here)

This is a dream project that can explain the relationship between shojo manga and fashion but also development of shojo manga fashion into real clothing with the brands from Kyoto.

The theme for this time is Nakahara Junichi and Takahashi Macoto who are the pioneers of shojo culture.

There will be a fashion show on the March 25th. Until then we will share the process here on MM blog.

Today's blog is about Nakahara Junichi×SOU・SOU. Nakahara Junichi has been a popular artist since prewar period. For this project we are focusing on Nakahara's drawing with Japanese traditional clothing to develop a "Beauty of Japanese girls" with SOU・SOU which is a brand from Kyoto.

So this was the first meeting at Hiroo in Tokyo on October 26th. A little bit posh but cozy shops welcome you here in Hiroo. Designers Wakabayashi and Hashimoto came to meet us, they looked standing out wearing SOU・SOU clothing. Before we went ahead to the office of Himawariya we popped into Soreiyu, Nakahara Junichi's shop.

Even we didn't have much time I nearly spent a lot of money there because there were many fascinating products.

We had a meeting at the Himawariya's office where the red color was based which looked really nice.

All of the designs looked so pretty, I was speechless. I wish I could see all of them in real clothing.

When the director finds one design he likes the conversation gets intense. The photo shows you how the directors spoke about the way things can be achieved.

After the meeting we went to see SOU・SOU in Aoyama. Aoyama is such a fashionable town made me feel slightly awkward.

We all went shopping craze there. Himawariya Nakahara san bought some too.

So this is how we've done the first meeting.
Afterwards I couldn't stop myself going back to Soreiyu shop for a shopping moment.

The process of this project will be shared on this blog so please check.
As the first meeting went very well now my expectation is getting higher!
