先月、USに行ってToshiba G500レビュー：MoDaCo
If you've not been following Windows Mobile for as long as I have, you might be forgiven for thinking that the recently announced Toshiba G500 and G900 handsets are Toshiba's first foray into the Windows Mobile market. In fact, Toshiba have a long history with Pocket PC, having produced a number of well received devices worldwide, but particularly in Japan. What is new for Toshiba however is their venture into phone enabled devices, and in particular the upcoming release of their first Windows Powered Smartphone, the G500. Announced at 3GSM this year, the G500 has come from announcement to market in a very short space of time, and is due to hit the streets - SIM free - any day now.

中々いい感じっぽいですね？ 先月、G900は触りましたけどハード的な完成度も高かったのでG500も日本で是非販売して欲しいものです(^^ゞ
HTC Vox(HTC S710)レビュー：MoDaCo
There's no denying that HTC's candybar Smartphone offerings of late have been few and far between. Since the very well respected Tornado platform release (which includes the i-mate SP5, QTek 8310, T-Mobile MDA, SPV C600 etc), the only candybar Smartphones release has been the HTC Breeze design - which spawned the HTC MTeoR, i-mate JASJAM and the ne'er to be released SPV C700 - and the low volume selling HTC Monet - aka the Virgin Mobile Lobster 700TV. The Breeze platform was almost universally slated for poor design, poor specs, awful battery life and unstable software build. The Monet on the other hand felt my wrath due to an awful keyboard design. Bearing in mind that the SPV C600 was launched back in October 2005 and the HTC MTeoR was launched in June 2006, the wait for a new candybar Smartphone has been considerable.

Shell32Extを有効にすることで以下の問題が解消します。
- タイトルバーに日付表示した時の縦棒問題
- ショートカットのリンク先に?が含まれていると?以降が取得できない問題
(SHGetShortcutTarget()APIのバグ)(新規追加)- WM5のメニューバー非表示状態でSIPボタンが中央に表示されてしまう問題(新規追加)
さらに以下の設定を行うことができます
- ファイルの「メールで送信」アプリの変更
- 「連絡先」のE-Mailアプリの変更(新規追加)
- プログラムと設定のアイコンを詰める
- タイトルバーの日付書式変更(設定-地域-日付の短い書式に依存しない)
ホーミンさんのところでShell32Extがバージョンアップしています！
新規追加された「WM5のメニューバー非表示状態でSIPボタンが中央に表示されてしまう問題」ってのは2++とかメニューバーが非表示で独自で描いているアプリを起動してSIPが被っちゃったときに右端に追いやることが出来る奴って認識だとおもいます(^^ゞ

Xbox360用のWindows Live MessengerはあるけどWM5は無いの？
While users of Windows Mobile 5.0 will never get Windows Live for Windows Mobile but instead they will have to buy a new phone with Windows Mobile 6, that has Windows Live pre-installed in ROM... owners of Xbox 360 will get Windows Live (Messenger) next month! Once again Microsoft is neglecting Windows Mobile!
明け方のエントリーとは反対ですが、Xbox360へのWindows Live Messengerの提供は間もなくあるそうですが、WM5への提供は全く無いような記事が掲載されています(;O;)
WM5の海外版には元々PocketMSNというアプリが入っていてMessengerが出来た訳ですが、WM6だけにWindows Live Messengerを採用して市場を活性化とか考えているんですかね〜？
日本のマーケットだけ見たらですが、定額データ通信が折角あるのでもったいぶらずにWM5デバイスにもWindows Live MessengerとLive Searchの日本語版を提供してほしいものですね・・・・(ーー;)
