公理論的本文批判：『The Calculus of Variants: An Essay on Textual Criticism』（1927年刊行，Clarendon Press, Oxford, vii+63 pp.／Reprinted in 1971: Folcroft Library Editions → 書評｜目次｜情報）の著者である書誌学者 Walter Wilson Greg（1875-1959）の論文集．W. W. Greg 曰く：「書誌学とはドキュメントの伝承に関する科学なり」From: Shakespeare Quarterly「1. Shakespearean computing」．実際，彼が『Principia Mathematica』の論理的厳密性に惹かれたのは，サイエンスとしての書誌学をいかに構築するかに関心があったからだと，本論文集の編者は指摘している（p. xii）．また，所収されている F. P. Wilson の伝記記事によると（p. 11），公理論への Greg の傾倒ぶりは同時代の書誌学者たちの中では突出していたようだ．
