VA / Binary Oppositions (Static Caravan)

イタリア北部で行われたアート展覧会「Binary Oppositions」のために作られた、イギリスのBirmingham出身のアーティストの音源（新曲）を集めたコンピがIsanやTunngなどのリリースで知られるイギリスのインディ、スタティック・キャラヴァンからリリースされました。バーミンガムといえばなんと言ってもブロードキャストやプラムですが、勿論彼らも新曲で参加しています。他のアーティストは無名な人たちばかりですが、基本的に先人二組の音を踏襲したストレンジな電子音／エレクトロニカ系のアプローチが多いです。中でもあのPloneを思わせる牧歌エレクトロニカ系のModified Toy Orchestra（なんとBroadcastのカヴァー）や、PramをバックにMonochrome SetのBidが歌ってるかのようなMisty's Big Adventureなど、他の音源も聴いてみたいと思わせるような面白いトラックも散見しています。ちなみに限定500枚らしいです。
