June 23, 2008 Ants! Ants! Everywhere!

The Nihonbashi Mitsubachi Salon Project (aka Nihonbachi) went well the day before but the next morning our bee hive was invaded by ants! They were crawling up the legs of the table that we put the bee hive on and entering through the bottom entrance. I frantically called Fujiwara-san, Tanaka-san and Yamamoto-san of Ginpachi to ask for their instructions. The funny thing is that Ginpachi which is on the 11th floor never had an ant problem. Fujiwara-san told me to rub YOMOGI (Artemisia indica var. maximowiczii) against the legs of the table as it is a insect repellent or spray cotton with insect repellent and rub it on the legs of the table. We brushed off all the ants we could and used repellent while asking everyone to look around for YOMOGI as it can be found in the wild.

Fujiwara-san gave us a name of an instructor, Goto-san, who would come the following day to check the ant problem for us.
