Dear friends of Club PolyCulture de Tokyo,
Club PolyCulture de Tokyo in April welcomes you to the world of “ Japanese traditional performing art - Japanese dance (Nihon Buyou)-”.
Our guest, Mr Takujiro HANAYAGI, is a high-profile Japanese traditional dance artist.
He is not only leading a biggest Japanese dance school “Hanayagi-school (hanayagi-ryu)” as a board member and teaching at university, but also giving a lot’s of domestic & overseas performance so far.
He says his main issue is to work on an “exploration of human being” through his dance.
We will be hearing about the basics of “what Japanese dance is”, “what it means to a Japanese of today” to “Comparison with other overseas dance ”in a universal and global perspective under the theme of “ Japanese traditional performance in the world”
After his speech, he will be giving an ad-lib performance with some western music instrument.
We are very sure that this unique collaboration will not be seen anywhere else!

For the gathering of January, we are pleased to invite Mr. Louis Solo Martinel, Professor and introductor of cultures. He will invite us to discover the French Carabian world which has many poetic similarity with Japan despite its geographical distance. He will especially mention about the writer Lafcadio Hearn (or Koizumi Yakumo) who also stayed in the Caraib and the Martinique before coming to Japan. We will hold this event for the first time in the sole and unique french hotel in Tokyo - Mercure Hotel and we will serve a special dinner in a "Creole" style.

Many of you might be planning to visit & stay to enjoy the beauty of the autumn.
Club Polyculture of Tokyo in November welcomes Mrs. Monique Dekker, the General Manager of Roppongi Hills Club,
giving us the lecture of "Hospitality business around the world".
She has a career in hospitality business (hotel manager for Hyatt) over 14
years now and worked in the Netherlands, US(NewYork) and Singapore before Tokyo. She now has 250 Japanese staff to manage and
is the General Manager of Roppongi Hills Club. She is to speak about the differences in Hospitality business in different
countries, together with cultural backgrounds and business environments.
We believe her lecture about "Hospitality business" is full of hints to your lives.

Mrs. Monique Dekker completed Hotel Administration at The Hague Hotel School. Completing assignments at St.Regis New York, Grand
Hyatt New York, Harborside Hyatt in Boston and Hyatt Regency Princeton, she was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager at
Park Hyatt Chicago. Mrs.Dekker was appointed as Executive Assistant Manager - Rooms for Grand Hyatt Singapore in 2005, and
General Manager of Roppongi Hills Club in September 2007.
