とはいえ、ドイツの首相はすごい、というだけでは足りません。ドイツは人生の早期に職業が固定されるなど、日本と違った環境もあります。
そして何より、首相がいい、悪い、政府がいい、悪いだけではなく、当事者として何ができるかも重要です（もちろん政策の重要性は言うまでもないのですが）。
ドイツは日本より研究不正が発生しているとも言われます。隣の芝生は青く見えるだけでは足りないのです。

フランスでは「博士課程は研究と研究に関する専門的な経験を通して教育を受ける場であり、研究に関する職業経験である」と定義し、学生は研究者と見なされ、最低賃金以上の給与が支払われることが前提となっている。博士課程学生と企業との間で産業契約（CIFRE）が結ばれ、企業と国の補助金で給与がまかなわれることもある。

一部で「mutationを多様性と訳す」との誤解が広まっているようですが、そうではありません。
従来の和訳では、mutationの訳語に「突然変異」、variationの訳語として「変異」が当てられていました。variationは英和辞典で引くと「多様性」と訳されている場合が多く、遺伝学の分野でもほぼそのように用いられています。また、「変異といえば突然変異のこと」ということが常識化しています。今回のことはその現状に沿った用語改訂の提案となります。変異という言葉は、従来の突然変異の意味で使われるので、訳語もそちらに合わせようという趣旨です。
