“死ぬまで生き直せる”、池田理代子の生き様

尊敬する人物として、歴史上ではなく、同じ時代に、同じ空の下に住む人間としての謦咳に接する機会に恵まれるとは、幾世紀も生き永らえる程に幸せなことであります。もともと‘謦咳に接する’とは、尊敬する人に直接お会いしてお話を聞くという意ですが、ここではあえて誤用させていただきます。

とうぜんのことながら、池田理代子さんに直接お会いしたわけではありません。お会いできたら死んじゃっていいくらいです（後の話と矛盾しますが）。毎度お馴染のNHK教育テレビ知るを楽しむ｢人生の歩き方｣2月の講師は劇画家・声楽家の池田理代子さん。

今なら、まだ、明28日午前5:05〜5:30放映の第3回目『四十七歳の音大生』を見ることができます。むろん、時間的に不都合な方は録画してください。最終の第4回目『人のために生きる』は明28日の午後10:25〜10:50 からか、または、3月7日午前5:05〜5:30から再放送されます。特に2007問題関連者各位におすすめいたします。

表題の“死ぬまで生き直せる”とは、なんと素晴らしい言葉でしょう。池田理代子さんの生き様をつぶさに知ると、生き‘直せる’が、自分にもできるように思えて勇気百倍になります。一つの人生で、まずは手始めに劇画家として名声を馳せ、第二の人生として、プロの声楽家として身を立て、｢挑戦して得たものは想像以上に大きく、何ものにも替えがたい財産となりました｣と言わしめています。

そうは言っても、それは、生易しいものではありませんでした。池田理代子さんは、長く憧れていた音楽の世界に、いまから十数年前の四十七歳のとき、身を投じました。三十年近い劇画家のキャリアを捨てるのは身を切られるようにつらかったし、｢失敗したら後がない｣という恐怖感もたいへんなものでした。

それでも、音楽大学に入り、プロの声楽家になる道を選びました。ここで重要なことは、プロになるという決意です。劇画家として、プロの厳しさは、先刻、承知していますが、あえて、好きな道でのプロをめざした池田理代子さんの凄みに胸が熱くなります。

ここで触れた池田理代子さんの偉大さは、ほんの一端に過ぎません。テキストのご購読を心からおすすめいたします。後悔はさせません。
