英連邦とエリザベス
ところが、Wikipediaを見ると、｢エリザベス2世は、グレートブリテン及び北アイルランド連合王国、オーストラリア、ニュージーランド、バルバドス、カナダ、ジャマイカ、パプアニューギニア、ソロモン諸島、ツバル、セントルシア、バハマ、グレナダ、セントクリストファー・ネイビス、アンティグア・バーブーダ、セントビンセント及びグレナディーン諸島、ベリーズの女王である｣と書いてある。

何故に！？
…ということで、非常に気になったから調べてみることに。
ここで、問題となるのが、｢英連邦｣である。
ちょっと紛らわしいが、実は｢英連邦｣と｢英連邦王国｣という二種類の連合体が存在する。
それぞれを説明しよう。
英連邦（Commonwealth of Nations）とは、イギリス帝国（British Empire）がその前身となって発足し、イギリスとその植民地であった独立の主権国家からなる、緩やかな連合である。
もともと、“British Commonwealth”と表記されていたが、現在は“Commonwealth of Nations”が正しい。
発足は1931年で、イギリス議会におけるウェストミンスター憲章（Statute of Westminster）において、イギリス国王に対する共通の忠誠によって結ばれた、それぞれが主権をもつ対等な独立国家の自由な連合体と定義された。
が、1971年に、｢民族の共通の利益の中で、また国際的な理解と世界平和の促進の中で、協議し、協力する自発的な独立の主権国の組織である｣と再定義され、ゆるやかな独立主権国家の連合となった。
加盟国は53ヶ国ある。
以下に列挙する。
セントクリストファー・ネービス
さて次に、英連邦王国（Commonwealth realm）であるが、これは、グレートブリテン及び北アイルランド連合王国（The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland）の王座にある者を、自国の国王として戴く主権国家の共同体である。
英連邦王国には16ヶ国が所属しているが、その全ての国の国王がエリザベス2世であるという、少し理解に苦しむ国家達である。
そして、各構成国がそれぞれ独立した主権をもち続ける人的同君連合で、何れかの国が他の国を優越しているということはなく、互いに平等で王座も独立している。
加盟国16ヶ国を以下に列挙する。
セントクリストファー・ネイビス
英国以外の英連邦王国では、国王が任命する総督が国王の代理を務める。
総督は各国内の序列の上では国王に次ぐ席次にある。
ただ、何れの国でも｢君臨すれども統治せず｣であり、国王と総督の統治権は儀礼的・形式的なものである。
英国王、つまりエリザベス2世は、上記の16ヶ国の元首であり、それぞれの国へ赴いた時は、その国の元首として行動する。
そして、それぞれの国で、元首としての正式称号を持っている。
それぞれを以下に列挙する。

さて、16ヶ国の女王であると、いろいろおかしなことが起こる。
一つの例を挙げてみると、2003年に勃発したイラク戦争、イギリスやオーストラリアは賛成したが、カナダは反対の意を表明した。
しかし、クィーン・エリザベス�兇蓮�イギリス女王であり、オーストラリア女王であり、カナダ女王である。
各国の議会が決めた事を、どのように支持するのか。
イギリスにいるときは、｢イラク戦争賛成！｣と言いつつ、カナダ滞在中は｢イラク戦争反対！｣と言いつつ…
難しい問題と言うか、理解に苦しむ。
まぁ、｢戦争には反対だけど、アメリカはやる気満々だし、言って分かるようなやつらじゃないから、やむを得ないのでは…｣みたいな…
ということで、なんだかしっくりこないけど、英連邦とエリザベスの説明を終わります。
