米国の反戦活動家トム・ヘイドン氏*1が現地時間10月23日にカリフォルニア州サンタ・バーバラのUCLA医療センターにて死去。享年76歳。ヘイドン氏は女優ジェーン・フォンダ*2の前夫でもある。ヴェトナム反戦運動で知られているが、彼が学生運動団体Students for a Democratic Society(SDS)*3 を創設したのは1960年なので、日本でいえば〈60年安保世代〉*4ということになる。また、今年の大統領選挙予備選でヒラリー・クリントンに対して善戦したバーニー・サンダース氏*5はひとつ下。
