The Room of Your Own Making

Take all the anger out of the room.
Take all the sorrow out of the room.
Take all the shadows out of the room.
Open the window.
Let everything in the room breathe the ocean wind.

Liancourt Rocks dispute

I'm interested in Liancourt Rocks dispute between japan and Korea, because I find many topics (nationalism, viewpoints about history, logic and propaganda) in the problem.

Korea and Japan is disputing about a group of small islets in the Sea of Japan (Korea calls "East Sea") that occupied by South Korea since 1954.

I have read both explanations (but most of them are written by Japanese). It's curious. Both people believe there are lots of evidences that support their own conclusions. For example both shows old maps, but interpret differently (of course for the benefit of each of them.)
It seems that if the International Court of Justice judge, Japan could well win. (But my opinion may change depending on the new knowledge.)

BTW I found that there are some misunderstanding or lack of sensitivity between both people (Korean and Japanese). e.g. Some Korean people seem to think that Japanese want to usurp Dokdo in spite of knowing it belong to Korea. But it's not true. As far as I know, Japanese who concern with this problem believe that Takeshima is "logically" Japanese territory and that Korea should accept the "logical" conclusion. I guess Korean believe the exactly equivalent thing (Korea is "logically" right.)
Another example: It seems that Dokdo became the important symbol of independence or unity of Korean nation in their history, but most Japanese people don't concern with the fact.

So far I'm interested in the fact that the argument don't go well between two nations. Curious from my logical point of view.

My little rules about nationalism

My little rules about nationalism:

1: Love my country like my own family and relative.

2: Know that nations are historical artifacts.
(In fact there're no nations on the earth 10,000 years ago.)

3: Nations are exciting games which some people bet their lives on.

4: Some people think nations are more important than their own lives. I don't know which is more important nation or carnation.

5: A nations is a kind of dreams. Give enough respect to someones dream.

a story of a small island

f:id:yosikazuf:20120819221509j:image:w420

A million years ago
A small island was born in the ocean
By a submarine volcanic eruption

He never talked
Because the family of islands loves silence
Since hundreds of millions of years ago

Then a million years passed and
There came a million of springs
A million of summers
A million of autumns
And a million of winters

One day
Two animals came to the island
They walked on two legs
They looked like each other
They quarreled with each other
Saying “This small island is belongs to me since forever.”

The small island laughed noiselessly

How many years have passed
Since two little animals died?

At least a million years

The small island never talks
Because the family of islands loves silence
Since hundreds of millions of years ago

He enjoys everyday
Listening to the sounds of waves and winds

f:id:yosikazuf:20120705093437j:image:w360

針路A
