Cars are submerged in floods caused by heavy rains on Amami Oshima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture. As of 7 p.m. on Oct. 20, the Kagoshima Local Meteorological Observatory had recorded 594.5 millimeters of rainfall in the city of Naze over the last 24-hours, the most the observatory has ever recorded there. 確認ですが，wheelは複数形で「自動車」の意味があり（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館），見出しのwheelsは写真の中の沈んだ自動車を指しています。これは英文の1行目にもcarsとあることからわかりますね。
加えて，このcaptionはthe wheel of Fortuneを文字ったもの。辞書にはthe wheel of Fortuneで「運命（の女神）の輪；栄枯盛衰（▼運命の女神が回して人生の有為転変をもたらす輪）」とありました（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』同上）。このidiomのように「運命の女神」をさす場合，Fortuneのように誤答は大文字で書かれます。
