The road from Barcelona airport to the city’s Gran Via conference space and adjacent hotels is not a rocky one. Even at busy times, it takes less than 20 minutes to arrive. It means that Barcelona passes the first test when it comes to being a tech hub: it is smart when it comes to transportation.
In recent years, global cities such as Barcelona have all tried to emulate the oft-mentioned Silicon Valley model to become another tech hub that will encourage companies and talented people to create a cluster of tech companies.
本日は以上より、"oft"を取り上げたいと思います。『Wisdom英和辞典 第三版』で調べてみますと 「副詞 《詩・文》〔通例複合語として〕= often 」 とありました。語源を調べて見ますと、ドイツ語"oft"からきたものとあります。関連して、よく用いる"often"は、同じドイツ語"oft"から派生し、"seldom"を意味する"selden"の影響を受け現在の形になったと考えられているそうです。(Online Etymology Dictionary)
意味はよく用いる"often"と同様ではありますが使用の際には他の語と複合させて使います。以下、例になります。

恥ずかしながら馴染みのなかった"oft"ですが、これをきっかけによく使う"often"とつながりました。文を書く際には"often"のみならず、本日学習した"oft-"の形を使ってみたいと思います。(Dew)
