いくつか危険な兆候とみなされるものがあったので、積極的に休んだ方がいいみたい。

• 明らかに思考が鈍り、反応が遅い
• 気分の high/low の切り替わり時間が短い

対等な議論ができる能力

院なんていうものにいると、もう試験みたいに自分の能力をテストされることはもうなくて（あっても TOEFL とかくらい）、成績の良し悪し以外の内容で評価されるようになる。極端な話、毎日が判断材料になってくる。それは、普段の会話だったり、メールの文章だったり、プレゼンテーションだったり、メモ書き、電話応答、状況対応の速度・的確さなど、もちろん気配りも。でもなにより見えるのは、専門性の高い内容に関する議論をするとき。
具体的な状況を抽象化して整理し、問題点・面白い点などを戦わせていく。興味を持つ点は個人の資質によって異なるので、そこも面白い点ではある。ただ、どうしてそこが興味深く、どのように攻めればサイエンスとして成立しうる面白いケースに成りうるのか、というアイディアの具体性・実現可能性、そして会話の技術としての説得力がとても重要。公用語が英語である以上、日本語でも英語でも同様のディスカッションが可能でなければならないし。と、道はとても長い。とにかく一度自分で道筋を立ててみるのが一番感覚をつかむのにはいいかもしれないな。

HIS, CBP, CYD (covalent yet dissociable NorpD peptide), Strep II, FLAG, HPC (heavy chain of protein C) peptide tags, and the GST and MBP protein fusion tag systems の比較を行っている。Abstract だけ流し読みしてまとめておく。

昨日の晩遅くまで物音がしていると思ったら、お隣さんがお引っ越し。暑い中おつかれさま。

IRA 闘争終結宣言

日経ネットから。二、三日前に発表。数年前に一度 IRA は闘争終結宣言をしているらしいので、今回の宣言が具体的な効力を持つかどうか、という点と今回このタイミング（２度のロンドンテロへの社会的評価）での宣言に注目があるらしい。テロリストが変わってもテロは変わらないのかもしれない。残念ながら。

BSI2005

The 5th International Workshop on Biosignal Interpretationが9月6-8日に東京で開催される。明日までに登録すれば学生は1万円ですむけど、それ以降は2.5倍になる。登録しちゃおうかな。なんだかすごく関係しそうな気がする。
