Upgrading from 2003.2 to 2004.2 is straightforward, it is highly recommended to checkpoint and backup your server as follows:

After upgrading to firefox-1.0.1.p, certain things such as extension/theme [de]installation, and "Find On Page" may no longer work. You may also notice an infinite loop when starting Firefox. If this happens, backup ~/.mozilla/firefox/*/bookmarks.html, and remove ~/.mozilla/firefox.
Afterward, Firefox should start up. You can then restore the bookmarks.html file to the new ~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default directory.
