村現況 The current situation from my village

お元気ですか？

久しぶりに生活のことと学校の授業のことを書きたいと思います。
来た当初の状況とはどちらも随分変わっています。

【生活面】
　→神器・利器の格付け変化

　　なんとこの村での生活当初、私の生活を支えに支えてくれた上記の
　　ものでしたが格付けが変わりました。

　　　●雨水タンク　

　　　　実はかなり昔にもう枯渇しております。
　　　　雨期は６月半ばに終わり、雨の全く降らない乾期の真っ最中のためです。

　　　　というわけで今はほぼ毎日井戸に水を汲みに行っております。

　
　　　
　　　　その様子を見て、生徒がいつも進んで手伝ってくれるんですね。
　　　　それどころか頼んだわけでないのに本日はある生徒が家に
　　　　わざわざ水を持ってきてくれました。

　　　　泣けます。

　　　●灯油の火起こし　　

　　　　以前紹介した油で火をおこす火起こしはもっぱら最近使って
　　　　おりません。
　　　　今はほぼ毎日炭で火をおこしております。

　　　　理由としては

　　　　　・以前より短時間で炭から火を起こせるようになったこと
　　　　　・炭のほうが火力が強いため料理には適すること

　　　
　　　　があります。

　　　　（２０１３年１月以降のキャンプのお誘い待ってます。）

　　　　以前のブログで書いたので説明は省きますが、蛍光灯は使って
　　　　おりません。

　　　　相棒のヘッドライトを３種の神器に格上げしたほうがよいかも
　　　　しれません。

　　
　　　　※ただし、パソコンを充電できるという面ではこのかつての神器
　　　　　は今なお高いバリュー維持。

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　現在格付け：高順位維持　　　　　　

　【学校】
　　→先生の減少・授業数の増加

　
　　　以前のブログで少し書きましたが、現在数学と物理担当の教師は私１人
　　　です（化学・生物担当の先生はめでたく来ました）。

　　　というわけで自分の担当クラスを増やし、以前は週２３コマだった授業数
　　　は現在週３３コマです。

　　　全員必須である宗教系の授業時間以外はほぼ埋まりに埋まりました。

　　　やってみるとできないこともなく、生徒達のやる気に鼓舞されてやれています。

　　　消費財などは使いきればor壊れたら終わりですが、教育は、自分が伝えたこと
　　　がゼロにはならないかもしれないという期待を持てるところがいいなと思って
　　　います。　

そんなこんなで、チウングトゥワ現況をお伝えしました。
本日も生徒はとても元気です。

Good afternoon.

How are you?

I'd like to write about my country life and my lessons.

Both showed great changes from previous ones.

　【Life】
　　→The change of my ranking about what is vital for my life.

　　Actually some of those which helped me to great extent at the biginning of my stay here,
　　are playing less vital roles now.

　　　●A tank for rainwater　

　　　　In fact there was no rainwater inside it now althogh there was plenty of it before.
　　　　The reason is that the rain season finished in the mid-June and now it's the dry season,
　　　　when we have no rain.

　　　　Therefore, the situation makes me going to a well to get water almost every day.

　
　　　
　　　　Once someone sees me carrying a heavy bucket of water, he/she helps me voluntarily every time.
　　　　Moreover, today one of my students came to my home to give me two bucketfuls of well water
　　　　although I hadn'd asked her to do so.

　　　　Her kindness moves me to tears.

　　　　⇒Thus the ranking of the tank for rainwater has dropped while that of the well dramatically
　　　　　raised (the existence of the well is directly related to my survival!).

　　　●The instrument for making a fire by kerosene　　

　　　　Actually I don't use the instrument above frequently now , which I said was very useful before.
　　　　Now in placeof that, I build a fire with charcoal almost every day.

　　　　The main reasons are that

　　　　　・I get the ability to build a fire with it faster than before.
　　　　　・I can get more heating power when using charcoal and so it is more suitable for cooking
　　　

　　　　（This habit makes me sure to play a central role on going camping after I go back in 1 and
　　　　　 a half year!）

　　　　⇒Thus the instrument for making a fire by kerosene is no more the necessities although
　　　　　of course it helps me.　

　　
　　　　●A solar battery

　　　　I have this expensive device but unfortunately I don't use a fluorescent light at home now
　　　　as I explained the reason before on this blog.

　　　　I think now in place of it , my partner, that is a headlight, is woking very well!

　　
　　　　※But I have to add that the battery is still now valuable for me in the way of giving me
　　　　　the opportunity to charge my laptop.

　【My lessons at school】
　　→The decrease of the number of teachers who can teach math and physics・The increase of my classes
　

　　　Now I am alone in teaching mathematics and physics in the school because my coteachers quit.
　　　(As regards other science subjects, chemistry and biology, there are no problem because
　　　　successfully we welcomed new teachers responsible for those two subjects.)

　　　It is followed by the increase of the number of my lessons from 23 lessons per week to 33 lessons
　　　per week.

　　　My schedule has almosost entirely filled up with lessons to be delivered except for lessons
　　　related to religion, which all the students are supposed to take.

　　　I keep trying hard managing this tight schedule by being encoraged by my students while it seems
　　　to exaust me but actually it doesn't so much.

　　　I personally think the it is a very good point of education that we could hope that once someone
　　　teaches another person something, the transfered knowledge or experience would not die while every
　　　consumer goods have the end.

Overall, today I talked about my recent situation of Chiungutwa village.
Today also my students are doing well.
