自律(自らを律する)

  先日来読んでる 森博嗣氏の日記で感じるところの一つ。
• 
  同じ感覚は別の日記の最近のエントリー 「その日やることリスト」 を読んだ時にも感じた。
• 
  自営業者は self-management が大事、ということ。 この認識自体は特に目新しくはなくて、まぁその心は joel spolsky の Just Getting Started! と同じことなんだけど、最近ちょっとその意識が薄れてたみたいで、 今「はっ」と意識しなおしたってわけ。
• 
  その時にも書いているけど、 そもそも日記を意識的に書き始めたのは caltech に居た頃で、 ちょうど研究者として行けるかどうか考えていた時期だった。 自分という重いコンダラを回す手管 だった訳だ。ちなみに、その caltech での研究が出来たことで、自分の中で、 研究者として行けると思い、今に至る。

  時々、その重たい自分が止まってるなと感じる時がある。 そういうときは、まぁ、焦らずにゆっくりとコンダラをまた押しはじめるしかない。 重い分、一旦勢いが付けば、後は自然に回ってゆく。もう一時停止はうんざりだ。

searching some information of LADSPA

  I was just thinking it would be fun if pv in WaoN is a plugin. but all sample codes are for the symmetric in/out, that is, the frames for input and output are same. Of course, time-strech effect is, so to say, asymmetric filter (that's the heart).

  yes, that is the case. and no, there is no workaround. LADSPA simply
  
  isn't designed to accomodate anything but "n frames in, n frames out".

縦書きネタ

  2/1/2007で気になったこと。 (別にそれ以来、連日連夜、気になって眠れなかったりした訳ではない。)
• 
  どうもこの分野に関しては圧倒的に windows の方が進んでいる様子。 emacs でもまともな縦書きモードはない。 (tategaki.el という、文字を並べ替えて見掛け縦書きにするものはあったけど。)

  unix 系では、したがって OpenOffice の swriter なら出来るようだ。 というので、ゴリゴリと ports からインストールしてみた。 縦書きにするには、メニューの "Format" から "Page" を選んで、 "Text direction" で "Right-to-left (vertical)" を選択する。 しかしフォントを選択しようとすると落ちる…
